چکیده

Effects of forest management on biodiversity have received increasing attention in both research and forestry practice. Despite advances technology, monitoring remains time cost-intensive requires specific taxonomic expertise. In management, however, there is interest need to integrate into inventories efficiently estimate the potential effects biodiversity. Forest systems can differ greatly depending goals intensity frequency applied silvicultural interventions. To identify biodiversity, an estimation using structural attributes may be a reasonable approach. structure – compared conventional species-based - easily captured during does not require The IBP (Index Biodiversity Potential) composite index aiming provide practitioners with efficient tool for estimating at local level. We recorded 147 plots three regions Germany, where detailed had been conducted. This study quantified relationship between changes scores species richness 13 groups. determine this, we analyzed estimated relationships count regression model. found positive birds, fungi, true bugs, lichens, moths least 3 5 examined types. However, spiders, bats, carabids, necrophagous saproxylic beetles, either no or only one type were found. Changes IBP’s factors number vertical layers, large living trees, tree-related microhabitats, proportion gaps correlated measured many cases. Even though generally adequate predict actual presence precise species, it utilized depict stand’s terms richness. Due its easy time-efficient application, could useful proxy used combination approaches.

BIODIVERSITY OF WOODY SPECIES IN Acer platanoides SITES IN THE SHAFAROUD FORESTS, GILAN (IRAN)

In this research, biodiversity was investigated in the species diversity level. The objective of this research was to study of Norway Maple (Acer platanoides L.) dispersion and biodiversity of associated woody species in the Shafaroud forests, Gilan (IRAN). In this regard, a 0.5 ha lozenge sample plot was selected with considering presence of Norway Maple in each site. In each plot, geographic ...

Bird biodiversity assessments in temperate forest: the value of point count versus acoustic monitoring protocols

Effective monitoring programs for biodiversity are needed to assess trends in biodiversity and evaluate the consequences of management. This is particularly true for birds and faunas that occupy interior forest and other areas of low human population density, as these are frequently under-sampled compared to other habitats. For birds, Autonomous Recording Units (ARUs) have been proposed as a su...

Silvicultural management in maintaining biodiversity and resistance of forests in Europe-temperate zone.

In Europe temperate forests play a prominent role in timber production, nature protection, water conservation, erosion control and recreation. For centuries temperate forests in Europe have been affected by forest devastation and soil degradation. Applying great efforts to eliminate the severe wood shortage of those days, countermeasures were taken during the last 150 years by regenerating and ...

IBP: An Index-Based XML Parser Model

With XML widely used in distributed system, the existing parser models, DOM and SAX, are inefficient and resource intensive for applications with large XML documents. This paper presents an index-based parser model (IBP), which contains validation and non-validation modes, supports nearly all the XML characteristics. IBP has the characters of speediness, robustness and low resource requirement,...
